Classroom Library Philosophy:
I believe that students should have a large part in organizing and creating the classroom library, so that the books can mirror their experiences, meet their interests, and provide them windows into new worlds.
Picture books are organized by topic or by author. Each book is color coded so students know which bin the book goes in when it is done.
The top row of displayed books relate to the topic we are studying in social studies, or to celebrate holidays and seasons.
Decodables are organized by a specific phonics skill. Yellow is short vowels, for example, and purple are blends.
